About Us

We are extremely proud of our Learn to Swim programme which offers top quality swimming lessons for children from the age of 5 to 11, following our own unique framework, similar to ASA Framework but with a greater focus on technique.

We offer 40 minute swimming lessons from 7pm onwards, on Tuesday and Friday evenings, in the studio pool at the Bert Williams Leisure Centre, Bilston WV14 0EF.

Upon completion of the framework (approx. equal to ASA Level 6/7), children are ready to progress on to competitive swimming, in the centre’s main 25m pool, with the Junior Development Squad at Bilston Swimming Club, if they wish to do so.

Our Staff

  • All of our staff have come from a competitive swimming background and are able to call upon their own experiences to ensure children develop a good technique in all 4 strokes.
  • Coordinators will stay on poolside overseeing every lesson ensuring teachers are providing your child with the highest quality lessons and therefore constant progression.
  • Qualified lifeguards are present throughout every lesson in addition to teachers, assistants and coordinators, for that added parental peace of mind.
  • All staff have enhanced DBS Checks.

Our Facilities

The centre was newly opened in 2014, and is easy to find opposite Morrison’s and The White Rabbit.

The centre offers the choice of group, family or individual changing rooms. The studio pool has a private viewing area for parents and is 15m long with a moveable floor, so the depth can be set at variable depths.

Tadpole lessons are set at 90cm depth with children swimming 5m widths, while Marlins and Barracudas swim in deeper water and 15m lengths. With depths set at the maximum 2m, swimmers will learn treading water, diving and tumble turns.

Your First Lesson

All you will need to provide will be goggles, appropriate swimwear and a towel. We provide all other equipment.
